Center for Treatment and Prevention of Infectious Diseases of the Directorate of Infectious Disease centers
The Infectious Disease Treatment and Prevention Center of the Directorate of Infectious Disease Centers Directorate was opened on September 01, 2010. The center provides round-the-clock medical care for infectious diseases to the population of Ashgabat and all regions. The capacity consists of budget 260 beds, including 160 beds for children, 100 beds for adults. The structure of the center consists of a ward, and 9 medical departments (acute intestinal children, Acute intestinal adult, Acute respiratory adult, Acute respiratory adult, Airborne droplets, Particularly dangerous diseases, Infant viral hepatitis, Adult viral hepatitis, 1 functional diagnostics (Ultrasound, fibrogastroscopy, fibroscan, electrocardiography, echocardiography, hydrocardiography, echocardiography) , 4 auxiliary (Kitchen, Laundry, Sterilization department, Des. Chamber) departments.
The center is a training base and an advisory and methodological center of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the State Medical University of Turkmenistan.
The activities of the center are carried out on the basis of existing orders and instructions approved in the state language.
The treatment and prophylactic center of infectious diseases in order to diagnose, treat and prevent infectious diseases in our country is carried out on the basis of orders:
1) Order of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan No. 336 dated September 11, 2010 “On improving the safe system for working with medical waste in Turkmenistan”;

Reception Department.
5 insulators are provided for patients:

Department of acute intestinal infections for children and adults.
Patients with typhoid fever, shigellosis, salmonellosis, amoebiasis, acute gastroenterocolitis, botulism and food poisoning are treated in the department.
The department conducts research:
• general blood test, biochemical blood test, blood test for latent infections, blood ELISA (roundworm, echinococcus, lamblia), blood test for sterility, blood culture, blood serology (Vidal), bacteriological examination of breast milk, FGDS and colonoscopy, ECG and ultrasound
• coproscopy, analysis of feces for helminth eggs, bacteriological analysis of feces, analysis of feces for viruses, analysis of feces for amoebiasis, bacteriological examination of gastric and intestinal swabs
• general urine analysis, urine analysis according to Nechiporenko
In the department, patients are treated:

• oral rehydration (rehydrate, boiled water, camel spike tea)
• detoxification and rehydration
• antibiotic therapy

In the department, patients receive treatment for tonsillitis, acute respiratory infections, as well as their complications - laryngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia.

Dispensary observation of patients with infectious diseases is carried out in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan No. 93 dated March 14, 2018 in the office the following tasks are carried out:
1. Outpatient reception by an infectious disease doctor of citizens who applied from the city of Ashgabat and velayats of the country.
2. Referral of patients to appropriate laboratories and departments for laboratory tests and other types of diagnostics.
3. Primary dispensary observation of patients after infectious diseases.
4. Laboratory and instrumental types of studies in a certain group of infectious patients (viral hepatitis, brucellosis, etc.) with their subsequent follow-up observation
5. Registration of outpatient visits, the introduction of an appropriate dispensary card (0.30-3h) for each patient with convalescence or a chronic process.
Innovations in the center:
• Organization of a telebridge with infectious disease clinics of velayat centers, infectious diseases departments of multifunctional clinics of velayats. Studying the state of infectious diseases in the field through interviews with specially assigned doctors, providing advisory assistance to needy patients receiving treatment in medical institutions of velayats.
